The Face behind the blog

Hi! I’m Syd, a passionate bookworm, professional creative, and emotional wreck over fictional characters. I started Fictional Therapy as a way to process (read: rant about) all the feelings books leave behind—from soul-shattering fantasy romances to twisty thrillers that keep me up all night.
I believe stories have the power to heal, transform, and connect us, especially when they make us ugly cry at 2am. Here, you’ll find honest, heartfelt reviews, favorite tropes, reading mood recs, and the occasional unhinged book rant.
When I’m not buried in a book or annotating like my life depends on it, I run a design studio called Jade Creative. I specialize in helping bloggers, brands, and creatives bring their ideas to life through bold, beautiful websites and branding. (P.S. If you love the look of Fictional Therapy, that’s me!)

Lucien: Lord of the TBR Pile

Hi, I’m Lucien — one-eyed wonder, professional napper, and Syd’s loyal reading buddy. I was adopted from the Humane Society and now proudly reign as co-host of Fictional Therapy (I handle the purring and emotional support).
I’m 2 years young, and I’ve already mastered the art of fetch, high-fives, and looking devastatingly handsome while loafed on my tummy with my limbs spread out. My favorite activities include chasing my fishing pole toy like a tiny panther, dramatically flopping onto Syd’s books while she’s annotating, and giving the cutest meows for treats.
Some call me a rescue. I prefer “fated companion.” Whether you’re here for the book recs or just came to see the cat, welcome. I’ll be over here supervising the TBR pile. 😼

(P.S. Yes, I’m named after the Lucien from ACOTAR. I promise I’m less emotionally damaged.)
